Why does Nancy always hold social workers responsible? We have very little authority if no authority at all particularly when a judge hands down a judgement. What about the lawyers?!?! What responsibility do you have? The social worker in the Powell case was following the dictates of the court. This worker did not have a choice but to bring the children to their murderer father. As a social worker employed in Canada we are forced to work in a broken system. We are held accountable when the system breaks down. It’s easy to use us as scapegoats.

I really enjoy Nancy's podcast! The only thing is that I wish it was longer... at least 30min. Possibly some follow up of previously discussed cases as new developments occur.Read full review »
