Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the broader use of nuclear weapons. The Kremlin says Moscow has the right to deploy nuclear arms, if the use of conventional weapons against it or ally Belarus, creates a “critical threat” to its sovereignty. The new policy also states that any aggression against Russia by a nation with the support of a nuclear-state, will be considered a joint attack.
Russia has launched another missile attack on the Ukrainian port city of Odesa. Some buildings in the central suburbs were damaged. Another attack has also been reported in the city of Kharkiv near the border with Russia, injuring 19 people.
