Strong GM crippled by inept players
Patrick and Lindsey have great presence and personality but are abysmal role players, far worse than ‘being new’, or Titus, should allow. Titus steals the show as the Ref; a clearly experienced tabletopper and talented game master, despite giving a little too much leeway on the players. Lindsey shines when she lets herself settle into her own rhythm, but all too often second guesses herself and takes a back seat when she should be the one calling the shots, if she could muster up some confidence as a player. Patrick is fun and energetic and charming, but is definitely the weak link as a player, despite having a great podcasting personality. He doesn’t seems to treat his character or the world from the perspective of a real person, and constantly makes terrible choices, often changing his mind halfway through, and never taking time to think in the context of the world. 5 stars to support an obviously creative team, but Titus is drowning, Lindsey’s refusal to capitalize on her potential is a missed opportunity and Patrick is pulling the whole thing down just by being bad at table-topping, leaving me frustrated with the players and mourning the clear talent of the Ref whose patience must be at max level. Scathing aside a rather fun podcast with potential that I feel is not out of it’s rocky start yet

Really enjoy the show and how it’s story reveals itself to the audience and the players of the game.

Love listening to this podcast at night and on my way to work! It’s suspenseful at times and even funny! Twists, turns, and laughs! Highly recommend!

This crew does a perfect job with their banter. While my first few listens were full of pursed lips and head shakes at the table talk, I quickly found the repartee paired perfectly with the actual intentional role playing and that these established the characters far better than anyone seemed to...Read full review »
