Description
Learn all about how a Former Librarian uses data to solve the world's problems, one usage statistic at a time. This is an episode I have been wanting to have since I started this podcast in January 📖 Cheryl and I got to deep dive into how cool librarians are and how much they use data, spoiler alert... it is A LOT! Cheryl boiled it down to an analogy of when someone is looking for a book you are basically using an interface to query a database so therefore, you are using data! One of the biggest problems that she solved as a librarian was related to usage statistics. Figuring out what's getting used, how to tweak process to increase usage, and determining the return on money for books. She also brings up the topic of being data driven vs making data informed decisions and why she sides with being data informed. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nerdnourishment/support
