First Episode
This doesn’t feel like a first episode; it feels like you both have been doing this for quite some time. Great production. I love how natural it is and the conversation flows between you two, the conversation is evenly dispersed which I love because I feel like you both have such great points to add to the conversation. The humour is present at the perfect times adding the perfect touch. I love your points about how we are treated as the minority and it’s absolutely unfortunate. Right now I am taking a class in university about this topic and unfortunately, these ideologies stem from slavery times and are very much prevalent in our society. Breaking them down will be difficult because they are embedded into our systems for example when you both spoke about complaining and having to carry yourselves a certain way to get what you deserve. You cannot break systems of oppression by simply catering to those at the top of the chain because guess what it will do nothing for those at the bottom of that very same chain. That’s why it is important to cater to those at the bottom of the chain and that way anyone above will benefit from it. This episode cheered me up and you guys gave great advice. As someone who does not listen to podcasts often, I recently got into them heavily to listen to Quran translations, but I love this podcast and it will be a go-to. I am excited for upcoming episodes InshAllah. I am excited to see you both grow and evolve. Overall, I love the podcast and keep up the great work!
