“The case is interest. The host’s non sequiturs are not interesting. I’ve noticed a trend in investigative podcasts lately where hosts try to insert themselves too much into the investigation. There are very few hosts out there interesting enough to pull this off successfully. These podcasters reporting is good, so I hope they stick to the story in future series. Listening to them packing their suitcase, or the fact that they’re engaged, or her “worrying” about how to bring up difficult subjects with her subjects… cringe. The lady host says she used to be a standup comic before becoming a podcaster, but who cares? Those are the asides that made this a bit hard to get through.”
