Tv shows turned podcast
These are episodes from four different TV series that air on ID, so there’s a narrator and actors. This is not a typical podcast with a host/opinions, etc. I think it’s a nice break from the typical podcast format. I know the stories can be hard to listen to at times but these are real life accounts from the people involved: the victims (when possible), law enforcement, friends and family and these are heinous crimes. Some of the stories are recounted by the victim, where they detail how the fought back and survived.

More reviews of Deadly Nightmares
This is apparently made up of audio from show re-enactments. So the second episode doesn’t even explain what’s actually happening, like where someone is or what’s happening, but you hear a re-enacted rape, or 30 seconds of heavy breathing. Disturbing and just really weird.

There is too much background noise - as a person who has hearing issues, it really makes it difficult. People don’t need/want/expect these sound effects, where do podcast people get the idea it enhances their story? When the music stops and only a person is talking, it’s a distinct relief.

Goofy, corny, lame, deeply cringe, and, worst of all, highly sensationalist dramatizations with over the top “scary music” and cheesy voice acting are interlaced with firsthand accounts from the people who lived through some of these really brutal, truly horrifying experiences.
