Shame on the podcast host/creator
Alana’s story absolutely breaks my heart. However, I find it even more painful that the host would reach out to a grieving mother just because he needed to unburden himself finally. I say this as someone who is also gay - please don’t use others, especially those who are hurting, as your priest or confessional. Shame on you.

More reviews of Dear Alana,
Simon Fung’s approach to uncovering the story of Alana Chen in parallel with his own makes for an intriguing, vulnerable journey. I can’t wait for the rest of the episodes, they are so well-produced and tell an incredibly important story.
