Sad Story / Terrible Narrator
Like the other low ratings for this podcast, my heart goes out to Alana and her family. This is truly a tragic story and should be told. However the whispering narrator and his personal reflections sound melodramatic and border on making a mockery of this story. The breaking point for me was when he grapples with when to tell Alana’s mother his own story in an effort to help her understand her daughter. This wasn’t posed as if he ~might~ be able to help her, it was posed as if the only thing he was considering was ~when~ to tell her. So incredibly arrogant and disrespectful. He framed this in the certainty that it would help her mother. His centering of himself is why I cannot and will not continue listening. Pass the mic, dude.

Dear Alana is a beautiful and tragic masterpiece, addressing themes such as self vs. god. So much to process.
