Loved at first then unsubscribed
I loved this show at first. Cheryl Strayed is wonderful, and if it was just her, I would probably still be listening. Steve Almond, however, ruins the podcast for me. I got especially turned off during the “Big Love” episode, not by the content, but by his overzealous excitement, creepy hard breathing, and overemphatic “yeses” throughout. Also, I was disappointed in both hosts during the “Hidden Worlds of Guild and Shame” episode. I wish they had told the woman who wrote in more directly and emphatically that, yes, there is no doubt that she was raped. Any person that drugs another and proceeds to have sex with them when they are passed out is a straight up rapist. The end. No question.

I enjoy Steve as a balance to Cheryl and I think they work...Read full review »
