Amazing!
This podcast is so powerful and thought-provoking. Helen Molesworth comprehensively and with obvious great care covers the many facets of dire importance regarding this unnecessary and undeserved tragedy. I am a survivor of domestic violence and my passion for this subject is deep and my experience, unfortunately, is broad. I appreciate more than words will allow me to describe the courage it took for her to honor Ana‘s life in this way. I am most definitely not part of the art world, but I have lived my life believing that art takes many forms and can be found in most things and places. While it is evident that Ana Mendieta felt passionately about her work, I believe she would feel far more passionate about her own life and the apparent disconnect between so many people from her world and the way in which she lost that life. She seemed to want nothing more than to highlight the value of the female identity and its plight, so the irony that her (almost certain) murder has been silenced, along with her, is a tragedy all its own. Thank you so much, Helen Molesworth, for your bravery to not be silent - in doing so, you have made a strong, encouraging, and inspirational impact on me and, no doubt, many others.

And that strange silence around her death is kind of the whole point of this podcast. Helen...Read full review »

Meh
The production is really annoying: the lame music and dumbed down writing. Also not enough citing of Robert Katz’s book Naked at the Window, sadly. He did a ton of work including some of the original interviews played throughout this. Should be mentioned more.
