"If you make money from war, you're scum. If you can't make money from podcasting, you're an idiot!"
Will & Jared return to the works of Hayao Miyazaki, and this time they're joined by their good friend Dan, to discuss the Studio Ghibli film Porco Rosso!
This adventurous and romantic film follows the exploits of a World War 1 veteran pilot , who happens to have the head of a pig, as he chases down pirates and avoids the fascist Italian Air Force in the Adriatic Sea alongside his budding young mechanic, Fio.
Why is Porco Rosso an overlooked film in the body of work of Ghibli and Miyazaki? Does this thirty year old animated film hold up to modern standards? Can it hold the attention of children, or should it have committed to being more adult oriented? Was Porco a good movie for someone that sees about three movies a year? Listen to find out!
Our outro track is The Aki Way by Purrfect.
