This is the classical music podcast that the world needs.
Having gone through years of typical music history classes in undergrad, this is how western music history should be taught. I was learning new things the whole time I was listening! So poignently written, the first episode brought me to tears. It was the only time I have ever heard a teacher say that a woman was not just a footnote in the history books, but one of the great composers. Finally! This podcast pulls back the veneer of the whitewashed male dominated western cannon and brings out the real stories of classical music. As a music teacher, I’m going to be incorporating this into all of my classes whenever possible. These are the classical history lessons we need right now. Aa a violist, my favorite composer is Rebecca Clark. It would be amazing if you could find time to make an episode of her! Thank you so much!

I wish this was how history was taught in schools! I loved both of these podcasts and shared them widely.

She’s disguising some feminism in the first two episodes and it’s all too apparent. Unfortunately that’s soured me to this podcast which is a shame. She has a wonderful speaking voice and the subject is promising.

Great storytelling. I will likely share this with my music students. Mostly PG, but obviously people’s lives will include some gentle mature (but not inappropriate) content.
