“I loved this series and cantered through it in 3 sittings. Yrsa weaves the episodes together beautifully and it is incredibly well researched - I had goosebumps throughout. I’m sorry that some reviewers vehemently didn’t seem to ‘get it’. I find historical evidence & human anecdotes carefully crafted into visceral stories for modern ears to be a wonderful thing indeed.”
