All Hail High Weirdness
When I found this podcast I felt that same jolt of excitement and recognition that all weirdos feel when we have found that one other person at the party who is equally as out there as we are. Desert Oracle is the hole in time and space that transports me to the arid, spooky openness of the Mojave while sitting in my damp, gloomy Pennsylvania living room. As desert lover and would be Westerner, it’s the sustenance I need to make it through the cold depressing Eastern winters and “hot dog mouth” summers. Whether ranting and raving about bumbling tourists, extrapolating on a recent encounter with some minor critter of the desert on a walk, or probing the potential realities that lurk in the infinite space dust we see scattered across the night sky, Desert Oracle checks all the thoughtful weirdo boxes. I have recommended this podcast to my fellow Eastern rock climbing desert rats and other choice weirdos and they are all hooked (insert desert meth lab joke here.) Can’t wait to catch next week’s episode live on KCDZ as I cruise into J-Tree to contribute to the much lamented over tourism. I hate tourists too, but you know what they say, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Sending my warm regards to Yucca Man, Desert Cat

It’s like a ham radio transmission crackling through your speakers as you drive down the dark desert highways heading towards the end of the world. Highly recommended

Desert Oracle Radio is my new, favourite podcast. Even though I'm way down here in the Antipodes Ken's measured voice and poetic descriptions of his immediate surroundings out in the Mojave have completely captured me. The next best thing from experiencing it in person. Desert Awesomeness!Read full review »
