We do a deep dive on par 5 holes in KZN and (eventually) come up with our official TOP 5 list. We contemplate what makes a great Par 5 and try balance our subjective eye-tests with more objective rankings. The number one rank may not be a surprise but JDV and Big T certainly throw some other interesting nominations in the hat. Karl updates us on his eagle hunt.

We do a brief post-mortem on 2023 and then lay out our aspirations for 2024. For the first time in ages, we're all together in person and its a jol. Can Karl finish the 13th at Cotswold? Will Terrence play 15 new courses this year and is it possible for JDV to play less golf?

This week we chat to Guy Smith - the visionary behind the Gowrie Farm Golf Club in the KZN Midlands. Guy talks us through his path to designing and building his own golf course and his obsession with classical design. Guy and his new partners Dale Hayes and Roger Newman will be opening 7 new holes at the course next year and we do a deep dive on a few of these holes and the inspiration Guy drew from all over the classical golf world.

We've made it to 10 episodes! Having said that - very little golf is discussed today! Karl and Terrence are joined by rugby twitter-ranter Jerome who gives some measured thoughts on tier 2 nations, the rise of Fiji and the Boks. We also do a deep dive on the controversial new rugby laws which seem well-intended, but are they damaging the physical brand of the game?

Our immediate excitement about being together in one room is thwarted by the post-production team who describe the final audio quality as "awful".   We banter our way through Rugby World Cup predictions, ideas for a local team golf franchise competition, and Ryder Cup thoughts. JDV shares some more devastating news about his brother's golf game and, in a surprise move, Karl actually plays golf.

Our inaugural episode kicks off with a brief introduction of the team and then a roundup of results leading into Masters week. LIV / PGA / ANWA and even the Sunshine Tour get some oxygen before we jump into Masters themes. Gary Player is at it again and the Saffa offerings this year look bleak. We ponder LIV players success at the Masters and whether Eurphoria Golf Course is worth visiting.
