Description
Days before the country was shut down in 2020 due to the pandemic, Melissa learned her child was diagnosed with autism. As a coping mechanism for the stress of the time, Melissa’s husband encouraged her to get out into the garden. Little did Melissa know, that encouragement would change everything. Gardening became her escape as well as a tool to interact with her son.
The sensory experience of gardening not only helped her, but her son as well.Melissa is on the podcast today sharing her experience and educating us on why gardening not only can help autistic children interact with the world, but can also help autistic caregivers as well.
