While on a work trip to Southern Brasil, Ushio Sakazakai noticed some wild petunias growing in a unique way.  Instead of growing up, they were growing out.  Way out.  He took some seeds back home to Japan and eventually developed the plant we all know and love, the Supertunia!On this episode of the Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat podcast, Janey was able to sit down with the famed plant breeder to have a discussion about how supertunias, superbenas and superbells came about, his work with Proven Winners and the importance of keeping plants somewhat wild for the consumer.
