Amapiano is undoubtedly the one of the biggest music genres in Africa now. Orginating from South Africa, the drum heavy sound which has shifted Gqom to the side has since become a mayhem across Africa.
Currently in Nigeria, Afrobeats artistes like Rexxie, Mayorkun, Dremo, Tekno, DJ Spinall, WurlD, Timaya, DJ Tunez, Alpha P, Skales, DJ Xclusive, Bella Shmurda, Zlatan, Ckay, Tunde Ednut, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wizkid, Flavour, Seun Kuti and many others, have performed Amapiano in recent months.
It is fascinating to see the Nigerian music industry and it's producers are owning the sound which originated from South Africa, and if things are not explicitly done, Nigerians might be responsible for making Amapiano break into the international music market.
