Season 1 was great, season 2 not so much
Loved season 1 - with Jason Moon. Interesting unusual topic, intelligently and thoughtfully covered. I’d have left a 5* review based on that alone. But season 2 was all wrong. When dealing with domestic violence, the opioid epidemic, poverty and death, there’s a tone that needs to be taken. This hosts tone was constantly close to absolute delight at her own good fortune in having discovered a “story”. Treating a tragedy like a thriller. Her questions were at times so painfully naive - she so clearly did not understand the circumstances of the people she was dealing with . And the whole thing was just not her story to tell- her attempt to “discover” an autopsy report a family had tried to keep private was disgusting, as was the attempt at suspense around his death, and the details of further domestic violence.

Emily did an incredible job on this podcast. It doesn’t go the way you expect it to at all and her storytelling really draws you in. I hope she does more podcasts like this.
