Description
Club 19 of 92 is Fleetwood Town.  Known as ‘the Fishermen’, the coastal Fleetwood Town FC are one of the smallest clubs in the EFL by crowd size - their home at the Highbury Stadium barely gets 5,000 through the doors. Nevertheless, in the last few years, they are a club that has fought above their weight, climbing out of non-League to League 1 (before relegation to their current place in League 2). And their manager is a familiar face: former Liverpool, Stoke and Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam.  In this episode, James and Daniel discuss how the club have overachieved in recent seasons, from bold managerial choices to the emergence, goals and sale of Jamie Vardy. And we hear from Charlie Adam himself on dealing with grief during his playing career, and his start to life as a first-time manager.   You can read Daniel’s write-up of his trip to Fleetwood here.  Hosts: James Gray, Daniel Storey Interview: Charlie Adam, Fleetwood Town manager Producer: John Rogers Learn more about your ad choices.
