Great Voice But... This Is a Thorough Review
I don’t leave reviews, but I am for this podcast because that’s how much I enjoy his voice. Trust me when I say I am extremely picky about which voice I choose and am able to fall asleep to. He doesn’t lower his voice. He doesn’t sound soft and sleepy where it just comes across as seductive and sexy when most people do it, which is extremely off putting. Granted, he just has a naturally neutral voice that’s easy to listen to. Also, his slight accent helps make each word sound light and less harsh. It’s rare to come across a voice you enjoy falling asleep to. But I give it 4 stars out of 5 for a couple of reasons which he can improve on if he takes my review into consideration. I hope he does since I enjoy this podcast so much. The most important feedback is that he reads too fast. Altogether, it just sounds as if he’s rushing to finish the story. Also, he doesn’t pause after every sentence. Even under normal circumstances, your English teacher would say that a period after a sentence requires you to pause. Now, for a sleepy podcast, this is definitely a nuisance. It’s not ideal for someone trying to listen to and follow along with a story while they’re trying to fall asleep. Because he reads quickly, I find myself not falling asleep because I keep having to rewind the podcast to listen to what he said. It’s also difficult to comprehend the story when he reads so fast as your brain is less functional because you’re intentionally trying to sleep. Please just read slower and not rush. Secondly, the books and stories he chooses aren’t interesting. This is obviously a personal opinion, but if you’re subscribed to other sleepy podcasts, it’s the same old stories you’ve heard before. I hope he chooses to read more short stories and books that are tantalizing and unheard of. Thirdly, similarly to other sleepy podcasts, he reads different stories and books every week. I understand that it’s for variety, but I personally don’t like it. I wish he stuck to the same story every week so that we can listen to it in order. It’s also annoying having to scroll up and down to find a story in sequence. Also, it doesn’t help that numerous weeks go by between a story. Lastly, I know this is purposeful, but I dislike how often he uploads a story. I understand that he has a patreon where patrons can subscribe for premium content. This is just a personal opinion. But I find myself forgetting about this podcast because uploads only occur once a week and gets buried underneath the other sleepy podcasts I follow. Overall, great voice and I hope to enjoy more stories. I’m sure this podcast will get more popular. But please take this review seriously because I do plan to keep listening and why wouldn’t you want feedback to improve?
