Currently I’m sitting on a yoga ball, 32 weeks pregnant with my 3rd, folding laundry, listening to this podcast. It is the highlight of my week & every Wednesday when it comes out I do my best to get up early, walk my dog, and tune in. I have had all wonderful out of hospital births with midwives and am planning the same with this baby and I’m becoming very excited. However, helping other women in birth is something that equally excites me, truly just as much as my own. I know I have a calling on my life to be a midwife: i spent a year apprenticing under my own midwife before stepping back to prioritize raising and homeschooling my children. But I know I will be back. This podcast is my little taste of the birth world. While I do occasionally offer doula services for friends, this podcast gives me something regularly to grow my knowledge, stoke the flames of my passion for midwifery, and prepares me for my own approaching birth. I love the combination of both thorough research as well as common sense application that dr. stu and blyss spend their time discussing when it comes to birth. I’ve laughed with them, cried with them, and really am grateful that they have a space in the podcast world. Thank you guys for all that you do.

For any parent or birth worker who wants to talk about what real consent and informed decision making looks like or who wants to really understand what the research shows (and doesn’t) this is a must listen. Too many podcasts claim to support birth choice but really just push the agenda of ACOG....Read full review »
