Dragon Talk: #389 - Glenn Goddard, Brigadier General (Retired), US Army
Listen now
Description
Glenn Goddard is a retired Brigadier General in the US Army. Glenn started playing D&D back in 1976 when there were only five rule books for the game. He was a Forever DM through high school and college. After college he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Private but worked his way up to Brigadier General over a 35-year career. Twice deployed to Iraq, he even played D&D in a war zone as a break from 90-hour work weeks. Glenn received numerous awards including the Bronze Star, Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge and the Sapper Tab. He retired from the Army in 2020 and now enjoys spending more time playing D&D and painting miniatures. Glen talks with Greg and Shelly about why D&D appeals to military members, how playing in the military used to be much more difficult and how he rose from private to General Officer and how D&D played a role in that.
