Black woman and cartoon lover!
I like this podcast a lot, and as a Black woman and lover of animation and animation history, I was hoping that there would be some conversation about racist depictions in early cartoons. Hopefully representation will be discussed along with animation’s place in politics. This would be wonderful given the input of Adult Swim execs on the podcast, and the fact that Boondocks is featured on Adultswim. People of color also love cartoons, and deserve more than three words about racism (eg, episode 2 when discussing the types of jokes in early cartoons...also upsetting because a large part of episode 2 was about vaudeville, and anyone who has studied American entertainment knows vaudeville was based in racist depictions of African Americans and Chinese immigrants). Great podcast tho!!
