Lighting the Silent Path with McKinnon Galloway
Listen now
Description
Bob stumbled upon McKinnon Galloway through social media, where she teaches basic sign language. As a teenager, she was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2), a rare and incurable genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, leading to her deafness. McKinnon has a beautiful ambition of bridging the gap between the hearing and deaf communities, which led her to start the Deaf District—a community where deaf or hard of hearing individuals can find resources, support, and a sense of belonging. Join us for an inspiring conversation about the challenges she has faced, the importance of surrounding oneself with supportive people, and the power of words.
