“Hey guys. I live in Newcastle and only listen to you guys on the podcast. I’m About a week at the moment because I have many podcasts I listen to but am currently on the 9/2 episode. You guys said to leave a review to get in touch, well just wanted to share my perspective on a memorable game that Joel called back in 2014. It was storm v knights and Joel can be heard saying “Melbourne are going to win this one there’s no doubt about it” or something like that before the best comeback ever occurred. I’m a knights fan and was at the game and actually was leaving the stadium as it went down. I heard a cheer go up for what would’ve been waddle’s try and figured “ok so we scored once, we needed to twice and I don’t think it’s going to happen” but a little part of me thought maybe, so I actually stood at the gate of the stadium for the remainder and once I heard the roar go up for uate’s try I ran back in to see the scoreboard saying 30-30 with 0.00 on the clock and all the boys jumping on Aku. I then was standing on the hill behind where Gidley was taking the kick pretty much in line with him and seen him get it from the sideline and it was pretty amazing. I don’t blame you for writing us off, I had too but here’s the kicker. My brother had put $50 on the game going to golden point and it was paying something like $1000 for him if had got it up. We are both devout Newcastle Knights fans and he continued to his car as we left and didn’t come back for the finish but I think he might’ve been the only knights fan deathriding Kurt to not make the kick. A win at that stage in our season meant nothing anyway, well out of finals contention by round 15 back in those lean years and we could’ve easily accepted another Melbourne storm defeat as we have become accustomed to even if it was in golden point just for the game to go to extra time in the 1st place even if it meant risking a knights token victory for no real benefit. Cheers hope this makes it to the boys and maybe even read on air, I probably won’t know for another month or so if it does or not.”
