2 - Peter Flory on The Lido and the Rise of the Golf Nerds
Listen now
Description
Peter Flory is an accomplished amateur golfer from Chicago and a golf historian with particular interest in researching golf courses that are NLE (No Longer Existing). His tireless work to create a digital version of The Lido Golf Club, C.B. Macdonald's lost masterpiece, led to Pete being involved in bringing it back to life at the Sand Valley Golf Resort in Wisconsin. Pete provides a great overview of Macdonald's role as the father of golf in America and how The Lido came to be, no longer came to be, and then finally came to be again. It's a great story about how one man's passion can have a tremendous positive on the game we all love. In "Angle of Attack with Andrew Lewis" (1:45:00), Andrew is back to discuss when is the right time to start a junior into tournament golf. And Joseph and Jim discuss a Big Idea (1:54:00) for helping the U.S. bring back the Ryder Cup in 2025 (and hopefully beyond).
