“This podcast is utterly fantastic and incredible -- for multiple reasons. I’ll try to keep it concise. First, a show that provides detailed gear discussion and insights from the top players in the profession is a gift that drummers of previous decades could not have ever dreamed of. We are truly spoiled. Second, as others have rightly pointed out, Mike’s interviewing style is such a breath of fresh air. He affords uninterrupted space for the guests to express their complete thoughts and answers to his questions. Mike’s journalistic professionalism and calm restraint stand in stark contrast to the many podcast hosts who cannot bear even a moment of their own silence. Third, I have never once seen or heard a drummer withhold his or her philosophies or techniques. There are no guarded secrets among drummers. It is a community. I am not sure if this is the case in other professions. In my observation, drummers share everything openly and without any hesitation. Mike’s podcast consistently demonstrates this.”
