“Love this podcast so much! It’s informative, hilarious and super easy listening. Only two negatives 1. Makes me want to drink at 9am 2. Makes me late for uni because it’s too good to hit pause.
Also I have been victim to many crimes but one I’d love your help with...
I grew up in a very small, quiet, safe village, the kind where mum leaves her door unlocked. When I was about 5 my house burned down. I was playing in the garden with my sister when we heard a man shout “call 999 that house is on fire”. My mum got me by the hand and took me inside to check if it was our house (great parenting) and indeed it was! Then we watched (with basically the whole village) as the firemen attempted to tackle the blaze. Our house burnt down and an investigation found that it was most likely arson but they couldn’t be sure. The police arrested the shouting man but he was released. They rebuilt the house and everything was forgotten about but never solved.
About 10 or so years later, in the same house, I hear a loud bang. I look outside and there’s a large blaze at the bottom of the garden. My mum calls the fire brigade and they eventually put this inferno out. The next day we find out it was a range rover that had been set alight about 5 ft in front of my mums car at the bottom of our garden. Again, this was found to be intentional, a stolen car that had been dumped and set alight.
My questions for you drunk women are....
Are these two separate crimes? Is it the same culprit? Is my mum some sort of small village gangsta that people keep targeting?”
