Warm weather has kept wetlands open and birds around in the Canadian prairies, and when coupled with light hunting pressure, hunting success has been good. Conditions for early white-front hunting in Arkansas have also been dry, but with young birds around, Dr. Davis reports of good hunting success. The conversation then turns to changes in rice production, how this has affected food resources for wintering waterfowl, and what other changes may lie ahead in the future.
