“I haven’t played D&D since middle school… in 1995(20 years ago?! When did that happen?). Yet I have the absolute best memories playing after school with my fellow nerds and outcasts in the florescent lights of the class room. Each one of us hung off of the words of our DM, Mr. Peratta the Science Teacher. I laughed, cheered, felt remorse for stealing (in game of course), and just had a fantastic time. This podcast has enlightened me to how skilled Mr. P was as a DM. The traits that Chris and Mitch advocate, the how-to-deal-with-this-type-of-player methodologies, and on the fly story changes are all reflected in my memories of Mr. P.
Thanks for enriching my memories of a great DM, and a great time in my life. I haven’t a clue where that guy is now but I hope he’s still DMing. Keep it up, best of luck, and maybe… just maybe I’ll be on that side of the table when my kids are old enough to roll a D20 without thinking it’s candy.”
