The Lions beat the Texans 26-23 on a day where Jared Goff threw five interceptions. Jake Bates hit a pair of 50-plus yard field goals in the fourth quarter, including a 52-yarder at the buzzer for the improbable win. Detroit's defense rose to the occasion, keeping the Texans off the scoreboard in the second half and giving its offense and Bates one last chance to put the game on ice.
