A unique twist to the D&D podcast formula
First off: I love this show. Everything about it is fun, fresh, well produced and natural. I’ve been a long time Actual Play podcast listener, and like a lot of people I think the market has grown saturated with similar shows. Lots of people playing very vanilla fantasy D&D stories using 5th edition. Whilst there’s nothing wrong with people telling the stories they love, it makes finding something that feels new kind of difficult. From the very start however, Dungeons and Daddies takes the core concept of the APcast and spins it on its head. The four characters are all real world dads, taking their kids to a soccer meet, when they fall through a portal into a fantasy world. Those familiar with D&D lore will immediately hear familiar names, but we get to explore the world through the lens of character who are viewing it with fresh, otherworldly eyes. The banter between the cast feels natural and comfortable, and each of them plays their characters to perfection. They all sound like dads I’ve met. I really look forward to seeing where the show goes!

It’s 2:54am and I’m in floods of tears laughing at a dragon getting parenting lessons. My girlfriend has decided to sleep on the couch. 10/10

I’m no dad, but I’m starting to feel like this is what being one is like.
