Pokémon is a popular media franchise created in 1995 by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori. The franchise began with the release of the Pokémon video game for the Game Boy in 1996, which was followed by an anime series, trading card game, movies, and numerous other merchandise. Over the years, the franchise has evolved and expanded in various ways. New Pokémon have been introduced with each new generation of games, bringing the total number of species to over 1000! The anime series has followed the adventures of various trainers as they journey through different regions, battling other trainers and thwarting the plans of various villainous organizations. The movies have also featured epic battles and heartwarming stories. The trading card game has remained popular and has undergone numerous changes and expansions over the years, with new cards and mechanics being introduced regularly. Overall, Pokémon has remained a beloved franchise for over 25 years, captivating fans of all ages with its engaging gameplay, lovable characters, and expansive world.
