Prison Fetishization
This show is somehow non-abolitionist and has a vested interest in keeping people in prisons to profit off of “telling their stories”. Sure it’s great to humanize incarcerated people but the end goal should always be DE-carceration and creating a society in which prisons no longer exist. This show is gross and gives off savior complex vibes when in reality the creators have no interest in building a better world without human cages.

Episode one was funny, relatable, and totally humanizing. These people are often out of sight and out of mind, so to get this insight into the life of thousands of imprisoned americans is truly special.
