“I came here from Blackwood, the series that surprised me; and with Earth Break, I’m astonished. The voice acting for Lynn is so very raw, emotional, and real. This story-driven podcast doesn’t hand the listeners all the answers to the questions we ask while listening, but instead focuses on character development through Lynn’s recording of her life on the other side of an apocalypse. I never felt like anything was contrived in this story; it felt through and through very realistic and very human, despite the sci-fi elements. The writing is extremely believable with a seemingly normal person as our only character, someone who reflects on her life and regrets as any of us would in a stressful situation. Lynn is not only believable due to the writing and direction of the show, though, as Jenny Slate is an amazing voice actress and makes the listener care deeply about her character’s wellbeing throughout the entire show.
Spectacular.
