He is interested in programming. Here is that interview. EASY ENGLISH GRAMMAR POINT for EPISODE #3 In today’s interview, please listen for when Saran and Kris use the simple past tense. Past tense adds “ed” to the end of verbs in a sentence. There are also irregular past tense verbs. For example: Regular past tense verb - I stayed at a hotel last year. Irregular past tense verb - I began class yesterday. The past tense of “be” - It was hot yesterday. EASY ENGLISH USAGE POINT for EPISODE #3 The second thing I would like to focus on in today’s interview is the use of tag questions. Tag questions are short questions we add to the end of statements to make a question easily. The general rule is that if a statement is positive, the tag question is negative. If the statement is negative, the tag question is positive. For example: It’s cold today, isn’t it? or It’s not very hot today, is it? I think this is the easiest way to make questions in English. So now, sit back, relax, and enjoy this interview with Saran. COMPREHENSION QUESTIONS FOR EPISODE #3 * What part of Singapore is Saran from? * In what part of Singapore, can you find Universal Studios? * What type of internships are regarded more highly in Singapore? * What does Saran think is really hard to adapt to in Japan? * What type of barriers does Saran find difficult to overcome? * What is Saran planning to do in April? * What does Saran think is the best part about studying in Japan? * What is the name of Saran’s dorm mate? * What does Saran want to study in university when he returns to Singapore? * Saran said that he studies two languages in Singapore, English and what?
