A definitive work
This first volume of a two volume set chronicles the development of economics from the ancient Greeks up to 18th century Europe. The work is extremely thorough and presents a wealth of historical information, but I also feel that it reaches a level of detail approaching minutae. I would also like to note that the reader, Jeff Riggenbach, is very articulate and has a pleasant voice; however, he reads very slowly. I found that listening at 2X speed did not affect my comprehension.

More reviews of Economic Thought Before Adam Smith
Not only is this one of the finest books ever on economics, but it is a tour-de-force, a page-turner, brilliantly researched----one of my favorite books. Mises.org has provided a truly fine work here. Well-read and well-divided. Thank you!
