“Early episodes are uneven, but if you dive in and go with it, the payoff is pretty satisfying. They’ve had ten years to create something weirdly engaging, and I look forward to each installment - don’t even mind waiting between episodes.
Fair warning, the critiques are accurate:
— Distracting, random and constant footsteps;
— Initially, uneven sound production (gets much better);
— A few (early) confusing subplots;
— Music or sound effects occasionally - and ineffectively - used as plot devices...
BUT - I like it.
I like it a LOT.
Even once I recognized where the (familiar) plot was going, I still liked it. I also came to care about the characters.
The only painful exception:
“Melissa’s” voice is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. Ugh.”
