“As a feminist I always question if men were killed in the same quantity of women eg specifically domestic, feminicide, would more be done to address the issue? I don’t think so, I know so. I am aware that in Italy and the UK roughly 2.5 women are killed a week. If to this you add the Brazilian as well as the ‘missing’ women in Mexico and China, I would say it would reach so many every day.
Additionally, domestic murderers get a much lighter sentence (in a high percentage of cases) than murder. I know that there are male victims too but no-one can tell me that it’s even a 25% total of those against women.
Women are seen as disposable beings and unless more TV channels, YouTube channels, podcasts and newspaper address these issues, they are going to increase in numbers but worse, their deaths become erased and invalid to many. Thanks Elisa, keep up relating these stories and, if there is anything I can do to help, please contact me.”
