Limerick Confidential: Exploring the greenways and castles of western Ireland
Listen now
Description
Hello from Limerick! We spent our last week in Ireland exploring the western coast, including its famous Greenway, museums and castles. We’ve been here a while. Which brings us to this week’s question: Have you ever visited a place where you’ve overstayed your welcome? Please share your experience in the comments. This is one of the abandoned and bricked-up railway stations along the Greenway, a rails-to-trail project near Limerick. Other stations have been turned into coffee shops. Details in our podcast. St. Mary’s Cathedral is right next the King John’s Castle, the number one attraction in Limerick. Autumn is a terrific time to be on Ireland’s west coast — as long as you don’t mind a little rain. The view from the top of the castle is terrific. That’s the River Shannon below and a nice view of Limerick city. Thanks for joining us on our adventures in Ireland. We’re off to Istanbul and we’ll record our next podcast from there. Don’t forget to answer this week’s question: Have you ever visited a place where you’ve overstayed your welcome? We’ll read your comments in the next EC podcast. This is a public episode.
