“Life saver! Thank you for empowering myself and my partner to understand, in layman’s terms, how employment law does matter!!
I’m about to employ 4 staff for the first time and felt like I was no where near aware of my requirements as an employer.
Also, my partner suddenly got dismissed recently ( for gross misconduct of all things!). But after listening to your podcasts, buying your books and going through his contract and the disciplinary process (he suffered) with a fine tooth comb. We have found multiple breeches and inconsistencies, not to mention a complete failure of the burchell test. The appeal is tomorrow, and my partner is totally ready.
I now also feel like I have a true grasp of what it is to be a good employer (not just reasonable as the texts continually referred to!), and I hope to ensure that I never fall foul of breaching anyone’s contract!
