Opening Day: Magic Kingdom
Listen now
Description
Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. Disney obviously heard we were talking about the Magic Kingdom this week, so they decided to drop a lot of news about the closing of an opening day attraction and the reopening of another one. Plus we got a first look at the replacement of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show coming to Hollywood Studios this Fall. Today we’re jumping in our Time Machine and going back to October 1, 1971.  That was the day that Disney officially opened the Magic Kingdom. What was the park like in those early days? How many of the opening day attractions are still around today? It was amazing to see how much the Magic Kingdom and Disney World as a whole as grown in the past 50 years, but also how much is still the same.
