“So I started the first episode and was enjoying it till the first red flag popped up, apparently classic who became tired and repetitive due to Jon Nathan turner being at the helm for 15 years, this sounded strange and I researched as turner was only in charge for ten years, 1then you started going at survival, trying to say this was exhausted, if you had done your research you would know that this is when Cartmel took over and gave the show a new lease of life, that the show was improving in the ratings but was too little too late for grade.
The fact all you could say as evidence for this weird comment was that survival had the badly named cheetah people. No who had cat people so what?
Then it came your real reason for your strange comments as you announced erroneously about the plans to mention that the doctor had a mysterious god like past and was more than a time lord where thankfully not brought to screen, yes you were having a very weak attack at chibnall.
But if you had bothered to do your research you would have found out that :
1/ the hints about him being more than a time lord had started two seasons before
2/ that critics and fans alike at the time applauded Cartmel for giving the show a breath of fresh air.
3/ that the ratings were actually improving due to the storyline
4/ that after grade pulled the plug, cart,el released his story in a book that became a best seller, the other is to many fans head cannon
Instead of researching just a little you decided to take things you have heard, make assumptions and use them to mock the modern show. I turned on this podcast for a retrospective not a criticism of the show as it is. If I wanted that I would have gone and watched your up down show.
The funny thing is you talk about a show being exhausted and needing to be fresher, yet you seem to be dead against ideas that would make it fresh as they don’t stand for what your doctor is.
But the doctor is different for everyone and that’s because the shpw embraces change, I’m sorry that chibnall isn’t for you, but he is for others, just like cart,el was for me but bidmead definitely wasn’t. Oh if you have done your research you would have got that comment, but you’ve proven that you haven’t
It’s a shame because i was enjoying this but had to turn it off because It’s not what I came for. I know that won’t bother you as you obviously only wish to cater for one type of fan and would have done real research if that wasn’t true, but the wonder of who is we’re all many types of fans.
So I give this podcast : for me anyway, 1/5 but hey I’m sure young fans will love it and people in there late sixties will disagree with me, but it’s not for me, good luck with the rest of the podcast, thanks for piquing my interest and stay timey whimey”
