“I’ve been listening since the show began in like 2017 but recently it’s become pretty insufferable. It might’ve started when Katy moved to the mountains or whatever but recently and for a while now I’ve had to shut off the podcast midway through just about every episode because Katy won’t stop with the “I want to acknowledge valid feelings on both sides”. It’s repetitive, it’s hacky, and it’s not actually insightful in any way. It just feels like congratulating yourself on how much of an enlightened empath you are for realizing bad people have feelings. It doesn’t feel any different than Piers Morgan talking about how great it is we can have a calm rational debate about these hot button issues, like is it great? Is it great that we’re debating the humanity of Palestinians or queer people or whoever else? Is it actually important to dedicate 20 minutes of every episode of your news and politics podcast to acknowledging a lot of different people on both sides having a lot of different feelings? I don’t think so and I don’t think I want to sit through another episode of it”
