“I was really excited when I first found this podcast seeing it was from the shameless team I thought it would have so much potential.
I really hoped that it would follow the ‘secret telling’ formula that ‘Love Etc’ had where they interviewed people who shared a secret, but then the hosts listened and asked questions with the intention to understand. And the feeling of not being the only one to have been in the situation before, felt relatable and also shared statistics. It felt like a judgment free zone.
Instead this podcast (especially as the season went on) we got met with judgmental hosts who laughed their way through their secret sharers letters, which was completely RUDE. These people laid out their feelings and the hosts just made a joke of most of them.
I considered submitting a secret for the pod but I’m so glad I didn’t because I would be so heartbroken if I was one of the secret sharers in season 1. I’m sure when they submitted their letters they didn’t realise that they would be hammered with judgment and mockery.
I hope they make some changes for season 2 if they do continue with the podcast.
The only good thing they did was interview people, but even that they could have done surveys online and sample more people who are likely to give more honest opinions, over a few random people in person who are likely not going to share their honest answers all the time.”
