Flipper wasn't so nice and wholesome back in the day. For some reason it seems like every animal we all adore was at one point quite monstrous as demonstrated by the Ankylorhiza, a prehistoric nightmarish dolphin.

Everything was messed up and more dangerous during the Mesozoic. You had theropods, titanic sauropods, fortified ankylosaurs, giant crocs, and frogs. Yes, that's right even the frogs were messed up as demonstrated by Beelzebufo the dinosaur eating giant, that may have been the largest frog to ever live.

150,000,000 years ago the Earth was a completely different place. Dinosaurs roamed the lands, pterosaurs ruled the skies, and all manners of nightmares lurked in the waters. But this barely does justice in describing the wonder that was Earth during this time period, which was also known as the golden age of dinosaurs, i.e the late Jurassic!

To many people, the Dilophosaurus is a small, venom spitting dinosaur that played a minor role in Jurassic Park. However, in reality the Dilophosaurus was actually much more impressive, as it wasn't just one of the first dinosaurs to become an apex predator, but it was also the largest dinosaur and animal on land in North America during the Early Jurassic.
