Given her outstanding all round performance and impressive leadership she was appointed as captain of the Indian team that played an International series against Nepal. Sushma's journey has not been without challenges. Losing her eyesight at a young age due to an accident, she had to overcome difficulties in her studies and adapt to a new way of life. With the support of her family, teachers, and her own determination, she completed her graduation in Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports, staying true to her dream of representing the national cricket team. Despite setbacks, Sushma remains optimistic about her future and is committed to advancing her cricket career while continuing to support her parents. She encourages young blind girls to stay strong and urges parents to nurture their children's dreams, be it in academics or sports.
