“This podcast really gives a personal feel to the events involved. I enjoy history but find the detachment from events that happened prior to my birth as a wall between truly understanding something as it really happened versus the romanticized impersonal version that exists in our heads. The fact that real people who were involved in these events are able to put a true human experience to it all really brings it home as something that happened recently in real life as opposed to some fairytale events that fit in to a sort of romanticized version of what we think history was or should be. This podcast is the next best thing besides actually going back in time to interview those involved in real time. I would highly recommend to those looking for a human touch to substantiate one’s understanding of events of our past. I Look forward to listening to future episodes.”
